I am back from a fabulous time in the USA with Lottie. As always, it was a whirlwind week. We started in Florida for a couple of training days training to ready Lottie for the week ahead. What a facility at Florida State University! A perfect grass range with ProV1 balls and the best short course facility you can imagine. No wonder Lottie has developed into a world class wedge player.
From there, I drove us to Augusta, where Lottie was to attempt to defend the ANWA title..... And what a defence!
Just as last year, Augusta National is a jaw dropping place that really takes your breath away. It really is the perfect theatre for a golf tournament and to be able to watch Lottie compete on that stage is an honour and a privilege.
With an immense amount of media obligations and coverage, Lottie could have easily been distracted from the job at hand but her performance proved proved otherwise. It was impressive to see how well she deals with this and compartmentalises it as a necessary part of what she does.
After rounds of 65 and 70 at Champions Retreat, Lottie was tied for the lead going into Augusta National. It was one of those days where the putts just didn't drop and a final round 72 put her in 3rd Place.
I am sure many of you followed the coverage and I would like to thank everyone who reached out to wish her well. This event was the beginning of a busy run of tournaments for Lottie which includes the US Open and The Open!
